Ms. and Mr. Minnesota Golf Awards Announced for 2016

INDEPENDENCE, Minn. (April 12, 2016) – The Windsong Farm Golf Club, located in Independence, Minn., is pleased to announce the formation of the Ms. Minnesota Golf and Mr. Minnesota Golf Awards, created to recognize the top female and male high school senior golfers in Minnesota.

Matt Kleinbrook, PGA Head Golf Professional at Windsong Farm Golf Club says, “Windsong Farm is committed to supporting golf in Minnesota, for all levels of play. Our state has tremendous talent at the high school level, and they should be recognized for their abilities and achievements, much like other sports in the state. Windsong is honored and proud to be associated with this award and these top performers. We hope that in honoring these student athletes, it will give other, younger juniors something to strive for, and help grow the game of golf.”

A statewide selection committee comprised of high school coaches and Minnesota golf leadership, chaired by Phillip Ebner, will nominate eight girls and eight boys based on their respective performance in the 2016 high school tournament season. From the group of finalists, two individual golfers will be chosen as Ms. Minnesota Golf and Mr. Minnesota Golf. The awards will be presented at a banquet on the evening of June 15, 2016. All nominees and their families will be invited to attend.
