Accusations of child abuse at Tribal school investigated, found to be unsubstantiated


Accusations of abuse of young children who attend an immersion language school operated by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe have been investigated and prosecution has been declined.

A media release from the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe states that the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Police Department investigated allegations of child abuse to children who attend the Sasiwaans Immersion School. A thorough investigation report was turned over to the Tribal Prosecutor and U.S. Attorney’s Office who agreed the allegations were unsubstantiated and declined prosecution.
