Ferdinand F. Trosen

Ferdinand F. Trosen, 87 of Cass Lake, MN died Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Cass Lake, MN with Pastor Mick Marino officiating. Visitation will be two hours before the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Cass Lake, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home in Cass Lake.

Ferdinand was born May 15, 1928 in Larimore, ND the son of Herman and Grace (Hulst). He married Ruth Betty Berge August 26, 1950 in Lengby, MN. He worked various jobs throughout his life including Johnson and Clark Farms, at the Plastic Factory, Wheeler Lumber Bridge and Supply, Cass County and Test Car Driver for Chrysler. He was a member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Cass Lake. He enjoyed gardening, playing games, watching Wheel of Fortune and Price is Right and he absolutely adored all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Trosen of Cass Lake; 6 children: Barbara (James) Gerde of Glenwood, MN, Kathleen (Rodney) Erickson of Cass Lake, Marita (Monty) Winters of Pink, OK, Keith (Cherri) Trosen of North Augusta, SC, Timothy (Cindy) Trosen of Cass Lake and Michael (Mandy Trosen) of Fishers, IN; daughter-in-law Amy Trosen of Brainerd, MN; 21 grandchildren: Kirsten Waldman, Kyle Erickson, Karla Kanagy, Kevin Erickson, Jessica Westlund, Rebecca Henry, Lawrence Trosen, Sara Burk, Zachary Winters, Zane Winters, Jason Trosen, Joshua Trosen, Jeffrey Trosen, Ashleigh McEachran, Tyler Trosen, Amanda Trosen, Whitney Trosen, Marisa Trosen, Andrew Trosen, Benjamin Trosen, Samuel Trosen; 21 great grandchildren: Wesley and Jack Erickson, Caleb James, Kate Kanagy, Lauren and Kaelin Erickson, Valerie, Elizabeth and Matthew Westlund, Cara and Alex Henry, Isaac, Liana, Genevieve and Paxton Trosen, Cassidy McElfresh, Chelsea Busch, Landon and Chase Burk and Monroe Trosen; 4 sisters: Evelyn Schweiger, Bernice Geiser, Janice Carlson and Janet Lamason all of Wadena, MN; 3 brothers: identical twin Dirk Trosen, John Trosen and David Trosen all of Wadena, MN.

He was preceded in death by his son Larry Jon Trosen, granddaughter Meghan Ruth Winters, brothers Robert and Herman Trosen, sisters Doris Lanz and Grace Freitag and his parents Herman and Grace Trosen.
