Class A State Quarterfinal – Red Lake 66 vs. Browerville/Eagle Valley 52

Fifth seed and seventh-ranked (MBN) Red Lake (27-4) pushed its winning streak to 15 games by knocking off fourth seed and fifth-ranked (MBN) Browerville/Eagle Valley (26-3) 66-62 on Thursday afternoon at Williams Arena in the 2016 MSHSL Class A quarterfinal on the campus of the University of Minnesota.

A program with a reputation for a loyal and spirited crowd, Red Lake was buoyed by the sixth man attendance.

Rob McClain missed a triple-double by just two assists as he scored 11 points with 11 rebounds and eight assists despite being limited to 20 minutes due to foul trouble. He also had three of Red Lake's nine steals and had a pair of blocks.

Kendall Whitefeather led the squad with 18 points on 7-12 shooting including making four of six from long range and Jamie Cook added 15 points including 3-6 three-point shooting.

The Tigers were led by Bryce Irsfeld's 14 points and six assists while Brendan Emery added 12 points and six rebounds.

The Warriors, making their third consecutive and eighth overall state tournament appearance, advance to face top seed and top-ranked Minneapolis North on Friday at noon at Target Center.
