First million dollars in state funding arrives as county works on mental health program

BEMIDJI -- Beltrami County recently received $1 million in state funding as it works to develop a new mental health program.

More specifically, the goal is to create a diversion effect for law enforcement where people suffering from a mental illness crisis get the help they need and don’t automatically end up in jail.
