Wife of Navajo Nation lawmaker released from tribal jail

WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. — The wife of a Navajo Nation lawmaker has been released from tribal jail after spending a week behind bars for failing to answer questions about a discretionary fund.

Window Rock District Court Judge Carol Perry ordered Mitzie Begay released Monday because she isn’t listed as a witness in her husband’s ongoing trial.
