Mille Lacs Lake walleye regulations expected soon

Mille Lacs Lake walleye anglers are expected to learn this week which regulations package the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has chosen for the troubled lake this open-water season.

Several options are being considered with the aim of avoiding a closure of walleye fishing on the popular lake. Last year, after the angling safe-harvest level was exceeded, DNR officials closed Mille Lacs to walleye fishing on Aug. 3 for the rest of the season.
