DNR announces first spring burning restrictions; will start March 28 in Beltrami County

BEMIDJI -- The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources will start burning restrictions starting Monday in various areas around the state.

The open burning restrictions will take effect in a portion of Cass County, south of the Chippewa National Forest boundary.

In the past few weeks, firefighters have already responded to wildfires in central Minnesota as conditions for fire have increased, according to a release from the DNR.
