Winnipeg missing person reports skyrocketed 29% in 2015: report

More people were reported missing in Winnipeg last year than ever before, police say.

In a quarterly report released by the city Friday, police said an "all-time high" of 8,894 people were reported missing in Winnipeg in 2015 — a jump of 29 per cent from 2014.

The figures will be tabled at a Winnipeg police board meeting as part of the Indigenous Women – Safety and Protection report.
