MADISON (WKOW) -- UW-Madison officials are investigating the disruption of a campus, Native American ceremony, with unidentified hecklers using mock war cries to drown out a tribal elder's solemn singing.
Officials say the interruption of a community healing circle at a fire pit outside DeJope residence hall with approximately fifty people participating happened Wednesday.
American Indian Campus and Community Liaison Nichole Boyd says people from a dormitory window began drowning out the ceremony with their mockery.
