Documentary on White Earth made

People everywhere will soon get a sneak peek into the world of hard drugs and street gangs that still today plague the White Earth Indian Reservation, as a documentary called The Seventh Fire is lighting up the country, one screening at a time.

The documentary, which was produced by actress and producer Natalie Portman, is the story of an Ojibwe man that many around White Earth know. Robert Brown is a White Earth man who, for many years, was a gang leader there. After his fifth time being arrested and doing time in prison, Brown then began to think about his life and his “role in bringing violent drug culture into his beloved Ojibwe community.”

The Seventh Fire stars Brown, as he recalls his past, his life with drugs and gangs and also the relationship with his protege, Kevin Fineday, a 17-year-old who dreamed of becoming “the most powerful and feared Native gangster on the reservation.”
