Red Lake IHS Hospital implementing temporary visitor policies because of increase in patients with the flu

You may have noticed that more people in the community are coming down with the flu (Influenza); the last several weeks there has been an increase in the number of patients diagnosed with this illness. People who have the flu often feel some or all of these symptoms:

• Fever or feeling feverish/chills

• Cough

• Sore throat

• Runny or stuffy nose

• Muscle or body aches

• Headaches

• Fatigue (tiredness)

• Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea-though this is more common in children than adults

To help slow the spread of Influenza or "The flu", we are implementing temporary visitor policies at Red Lake IHS Hospital. While we realize these temporary steps may result in some inconvenience to family members and other visitors, we appreciate your understanding and support. We also know that friends and family are very important to our patients' healing- we will work with you to accommodate patient needs!
