Beltrami Electric Cooperative to hold district meetings

Bemidji, MN (March 8, 2016) – District meetings have been scheduled for Beltrami Electric members residing in Districts 1, 5 and 8. Attendance to these meetings in encouraged, as they are a great way to stay informed about the cooperative and to express concerns or ideas to directors and staff. The meetings also serve as a prelude to the upcoming annual meeting Thursday, April 21 at the Bemidji High School. Nominations to the cooperative's board of directors will be accepted at these meetings, with the names of the top two candidates as determined by popular vote placed on the general election ballot.

The District 5 meeting will be held Thursday, March 10 at the Ten Lake Town Hall, with Bob Wallner the incumbent. The District 8 meeting will be held, Monday, March 14. This will be a vacant position due to term limits held by Terry Diffley. The District 1 meeting will be held Tuesday, March 15 at the Kelliher Community Center with Murl Nord the incumbent.

District meetings are held each year in accordance with the cooperative's bylaws.

Members interested in running for a director position should attend their district meeting where they are eligible for nomination by another member of the co-op.
