BAGLEY — The Cass Lake-Bena girls’ basketball team’s season came to end end Thursday at Bagley High School, as top-seeded Win-E-Mac beat the Panthers 85-26 in their Sub-Section 8A East quarterfinal game.
Everything went the Patriots’ way throughout the game, starting off with a 9-0 run to take the early edge. For the remainder of the night, their advantage continued to grow.
The Panthers (7-20) headed into the locker room down 70-17, largely in part to turnovers on the offensive end, which translated into layups on the other end for Win-E-Mac (25-3).
The Patriots made just two jump shots in the first half, but used layups and free throws to build a 53 point halftime lead, in part to a 21-0 run to close the half.
