Eelpout, perch are on anglers' radar

The gamefish season has ended for the inland waters of Minnesota and the 2015-16 Minnesota fishing licenses have expired.

Anglers 16 years of age and older need to purchase new 2016-17 fishing licenses to continue fishing for species like crappies, sunfish, perch, trout and any other species that is open to fishing.

One of the hottest bites recently has been for eelpout. The peak prespawn bite for eelpout may only last a few more days or it might last a little longer, but once most of the eelpout have finished spawning, the hot bite will end fairly quickly.
