Bonita Bruce, 71, of Walker, passed away at her home on February 27th, 2016 with her family by her side. Bonita was born in White Earth, Minnesota on December 3rd, 1944 to Samuel Goose and Sophie Sitting.
Bonita loved spending time with her family. One of her most cherished things to do was storytelling with her relatives. She liked to cook, eat, shop, gamble and garage saleing. Among other hobbies, she was a talented artist. Bonita enjoyed the time she had taking care of her grand kids and visiting with her friends. She was loved by so many and will be deeply missed by all.
Bonita has been reunited with her loving husband, Daniel Bruce, her children; Danette Bruce and Kenny Goose, brothers; Joe and Larry Goose, sisters; Veronica Lyons, Verna Blessing and Roxanne Goose and other relatives and friends.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children; Jeff Goose Sr., Jeanne Goose, Roderick Goose and Carrie Bruce; brothers; Kenny Mountain and Tim Goose, sisters; Christine Goodman, Georgette Faye, Jeanne Mountain, Sharon Mountain, Mary Goose and Reah Goose, special son-in-law; David Staples, 25 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
A wake for Bonita will begin at 3:00 p.m. on March 2nd, 2016 and continue until 5:00 p.m., Thursday, March 3rd at the Facility Center in Cass Lake. Pastor Mark R. Olson will officiate. Bonita will travel to the Church of Gitchitwaa Kateri in Minneapolis for her funeral service which will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 4th. Father Robert Two Bulls will officiate. Pallbearers for Bonita are Roderick Goose, Cory Hoffman, DuWayne Jones, Richard Tallman, Curtis Hoffman, Jr. and Jeffrey Goose, Jr. Her honorary pallbearers are Suzanna Goodman, Donnie Stone, Marva Aitkin, Georgette Robertson, Jeffrey Goose, Sr. and Verna Basswood. Her final resting place will be next to her beloved husband Daniel in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery at Minneapolis at 1:05 p.m., following her Friday services.
