Local legislators discuss bonding bill with community leaders as session nears

BEMIDJI—With the Minnesota Legislature set to begin its 2016 session in about a week, three regional legislators met with Bemidji community members to discuss what they expect in the months ahead.

Appearing at the event and answering queries in a Q-and-A format were District 5A Rep. John Persell, DFL-Bemidji; District 2A Rep. Dave Hancock, R-Bemidji and District 5 Sen. Tom Saxhaug, DFL-Grand Rapids.

During the event, which was hosted by the Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce, the topic brought up with the most local impact was the bonding bill, and the likelihood it has to pass before the session's end.
