Peter Charles Black, "Zoowub", of the Bear Clan, age 70, of Ponemah, began his spiritual journey on February 24, 2016 at the Redeemer Residence in Minneapolis, MN. He was born on December 3, 1945 in Ponemah, the son of Alice Fineday.

Peter worked for the Comprehensive Health Services as an EMT and Ambulance Driver. He was also a commercial fisherman for many years. Peter loved playing bingo, going to the casino, watching his great grandchildren grow and being with the love of his life, Beverly.

The family that Peter joins again are his loving wife, Beverly, mother; Alice Fineday, sister; Gladys Maxwell, brother; Julius Fineday, nieces Iris Desjarlait and Ida Black, nephew; Marvin Black and grandmother; Fannie Wind.

Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his sons; Arlyn Thomas and Peter "Barney" Thomas of Ponemah, daughter; Cynthia "Candy" Thomas of Ponemah, his granddaughter that he raised since she was a baby; Celeste Thomas, brothers; Robert Fineday and Phillip Fineday, sisters; Annie Fineday, Deborah Cloud, Freida Fineday, 11 grandchildren, his great grandchildren he adored; Deionte, DeVaughn, DeAngela, Dezmond, and Gary Johnson, Jr., nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

A wake for Peter will begin at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 27, 2016 and will continue until the 10:00 a.m. traditional service on Monday, February 29, all held at the Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah. Spiritual Advisor will be Steve Jackson. Pallbearers will be Gary Johnson, Sr., Marlyn Black, Vincent Johnson, Kevin Rosebear, Gary "Scruff" Johnson, Mike Spears, Darwin Iceman and Alvie Stillday, Sr. Alternate pallbearer will be Peter "Barney" Thomas. Honorary pallbearers will be Margaret Porter, Gary Nelson, Sr., Marvin Iceman, Donald Iceman and many, many, many more friends and relatives. Interment will be held in the Black Family burial grounds following the service.
