Deputy smells marijuana, leads to arrest of man for 150 plants near Alexandria

GARFIELD, Minn. -- A Garfield man was arrested Wednesday after authorities seized more than 150 marijuana plants on his property.

Earlier that day, a Douglas County sheriff's deputy was speaking with the suspect at his residence on North Park Street about an unrelated matter when the deputy smelled a strong odor of marijuana. He also noted other "drug precursors" that indicated a marijuana growing operation, according to the sheriff's office.
