Man gets jail time for beer bottle assault during Indian Center melee

A 29-year-old Omaha man got jail time Wednesday for hitting a police officer in the head with a full bottle of beer during a football gameday fracas at the Lincoln Indian Center.

Abraham Banuelos pleaded no contest to third-degree assault on an officer for what happened Sept. 20, 2014.

"I definitely did not mean to hurt anyone," he said. "But I was caught up in the moment."
