Minnesota counties including Beltrami see rise in revenues, expenditures

BEMIDJI -- A new report regarding the finances of Minnesota counties in 2014 shows an overall increase in revenues, a result that is reflected in Beltrami County.

According to the report, which was issued by State Auditor Rebecca Otto, Minnesota county revenues totaled $6.4 billion in 2014, a $442.4 million or 7.5 percent increase over 2013. The report states the upturn was caused by increases in interest earnings, federal grants and state grants.

In Beltrami County, the total revenue collected equaled $66,975,542, with $21,293,639 in tax revenue, $10,753,375 in federal grants and $19,447,561 in state grants among the contributing figures.
