BEMIDJI—Anglers still have a month before they need to take their fish houses off local lakes, despite a warm couple weeks that have thinned the area's coat of snow.
State law requires the houses be removed from lakes in northern Minnesota by about March 21, and by about March 7 in the southern half of the state. In the meantime, conditions should be fine for fishing and lake travel, said Gary Barnard, area fishery supervisor for the Minnesota DNR.
