JoAnn Lussier-Head, age 79, of Minneapolis, Minnesota was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 17th, 2016, from the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. JoAnn was born on July 18th, 1936, in Red Lake, Minnesota to Charles and Jane (Smith) Lussier.

JoAnn was a very independent, strong and private person who liked to keep to herself. She spent a lot of her time at home where she kept herself busy doing jigsaw puzzles, cooking, baking and beading. She was well known for her bead work. She took special orders from Johnny Cash and his brother Tommy for her handmade beaded belts. JoAnn was very talented and musically inclined and could play just about any instrument, she especially liked to play her accordion. JoAnn enjoyed spending time at Mystic Lake Casino and with her special grandson Kevin Head. JoAnn loved spending time with her family whenever she could.

Those welcoming her home are her parents; Charles and Jane, son; Kevin "Tix" Head, brother; Clayton Lussier, grandparents; Adam and Mary Lussier, and other relatives.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons; Robert "George" Head Jr. of Minneapolis, Gary (Shirley Kingbird) Head of Ponemah, David Head of Bemidji, Michael Head Sr. of Redby and Gregory "Jason" Head Sr. of Redby, daughter; Janet (David Cobenais) Head of Red Lake, stepson; Austin Head, brother; Ronald Lussier of Red Lake, sisters; Barbara (Herb) Brown of Minneapolis, Betty Parkhurst of Red Lake, Eleanor Smith of Red Lake, Beverly Andree of Apple Valley and Audrey Lussier of Bemidji, numerous grandchildren and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A wake for JoAnn will begin at 5:00 p.m., Friday, February 19th and continue until her 11:00 a.m. service on Saturday, February 20th all being held at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake. Father George Ross will officiate. Helping to lay JoAnn to rest are her grandsons; Kevin Head, Michael Head Jr., Trevenn Beaulieu, Robert Head III, Brandon Strong and Jerick Head. Alternate pallbearers are Cole Cobenais, Tyrone Beaulieu, Trent Beaulieu, Gregory "Son" Head Jr., Brennan Head and David Cobenais. JoAnn's honorary pallbearers are Robert "George" Head Jr., Gary Head, David Head, Michael Head Sr., Gregory "Jason" Head Sr., Janet Head, Muriel Dickenson, Shelda Dickenson, Carol English, Sandra English, Doug English, Herman English, all of her sisters and grandchildren. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake following her Saturday service.
