Leech Lake Police seize more than $230,000 in narcotics in 2015

CASS LAKE—The Leech Lake Tribal Police Department seized more than $230,000 in illegal narcotics in 2015.

Police officials said they drafted 41 search warrants for residences and vehicles last year, and seized 37 firearms (which include handguns and rifles) as well as $9,900 in cash. Six vehicles also were seized, a release said.

In all, there were 122 felony-level cases opened in 2015 by police patrol officers and investigators. There were 148 narcotic-related arrests by the department in 2015, 84 males and 64 females.
