Jerry Loud Announces Candidacy for District 2A

Puposky Resident Will Seek DFL Endorsement

Puposky resident Jerald "Jerry" Loud announced his candidacy for the Minnesota House of Representative 2A seat today. Loud will seek the DFL endorsement for the 2A seat. District 2A includes most of Beltrami County except the city of Bemidji, all of Clearwater and Lake of the Woods Counties and northern Hubbard County. DFL endorsement for Senate District 2 candidates will take place at the community center in Ogema, MN on March 19, 2016.

Born and raised in Bemidji, Loud attended Bemidji area schools, and attended Bemidji State University graduating with a Bachelors degree in Indian studies. Loud is also a ten-year veteran of the United States Navy and has three adult daughters.

Loud says he will bring a fresh voice to the Minnesota House because of his extensive educational and technical background. He has achieved stability and advancement throughout his career, and prides himself in a creative attitude to meet and even exceed career goals.

"I believe I have an ability to build working relationships and establishing confidence within a team or individual colleagues," says Loud. Loud worked in corporate America for a decade with Novartis Pharmaceuticals, and has ten years working for the Red Lake Band of Chippewa in various positions. He currently is the Executive Director of the TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) program where he has established strong working relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), which has helped him, understand how large organizations operate and maintain a productive environment. In addition he spearheaded the Red Lake Green Step Nation.

Loud's legislative priorities include:

1) Education - Curriculum that meets today's workforce

2) Economic Development - Breaking down disparities

3) Technology - Tools to create a competitive environment to attract new Industries

4) Veteran Affairs - Advocate for the Benefits all veterans deserve

5) Environmental Issues - Water & Evasive species control

"I believe my background as an educator and the diversity of my accomplishments enables me to relate to multiple levels of business from C-Level executives to blue-collar employees," said Loud. "I understand State and Federal procedures, and how the corporate environment works, and knowing how to negotiate contracts with the State of Minnesota makes me believe that I am a good choice for the MN State Representative 2A seat."
