Parent and Community Advisory Committee Meeting held in Red Lake

Parents and community members still needed

RED LAKE, MN - The monthly Parent and Community Advisory Committee held their meeting at the Red Lake Casino Event Center on Wednesday, February 9, 2016.

The purpose of this Red Lake School District #38 committee is to provide parents and community members the opportunity to promote effective communication between home, school and the community, foster meaningful stakeholder participation in district efforts and provide feedback that informs district programs and plans.

At this meeting, participants reviewed the purpose for the committee and provided input on community education efforts, Ojibwe Language Immersion and the potential for an Ojibwe Language School, and Title Programs.

The next meeting is scheduled for April 12, 2016 starting at 5 PM and will include the Indian Education Plan Review and the District's Resilience Plan Review.

Everyone is welcome to participate, and lunch will be served before the meeting begins.

For further information on this committee, or to join, contract Red Lake Superintendent Dr. Anne Lundquist at 218-679-3353 during normal business hours.

About 24 people were in attendance at this meeting, but there is still a need for more involvement from community members.
