County may lose taxes on 3,000 acres

Morrison County Commissioners were informed at their meeting, Tuesday, of a letter from the Minnesota Governor’s Office requesting comment on an application to place more than 3,000 acres of land in Morrison County into government trust on behalf of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe. The letter requested a response by Wednesday, Feb. 10.

County Administrator Deb Gruber said the letter was received by staff late Feb. 4 and reached her desk Monday afternoon.
