Whiteclay activists take concerns to liquor regulators, state leaders

Over the past 16 years, Nora Boesem and her husband, Randy, have taken in more than 150 foster children, nearly all of them from South Dakota’s Pine Ridge Indian Reservation and suffering from fetal alcohol spectrum disorder.

The Newell, South Dakota, couple has adopted or taken permanent custody of 12 of those children, including Donovan, who hung himself at the age of 15.
