Tribes issue $5,000 citation for killing of owl

The Colville Confederated Tribes have issued a citation in connection with the killing of a Northern Hawk Owl.

Birders were furious when the owl was found dead last month, hanging from a tree near Brewster.

When the owl was first spotted, bird watchers flocked to see it, but it was on private property. The word among birders was that the landowner was unhappy about the attention.
