Work continuing on Bemidji Regional Airport 20-year plan development

BEMIDJI—Public commentary regarding the future of the Bemidji Regional Airport is being compiled as officials work to complete the facility's master plan.

The master plan is a 20-year forecast that airports develop about every 10 years, with the last being completed in Bemidji in 2006. The plan, which takes into account passenger trends and demographics, requires the opinion of local residents, which has been collected during a few sessions, according to airport Executive Director Karen Weller.

"What we've done is have public meetings with both the general public and the users of the airport," Weller said. "We've gathered their input, concerns and ideas, and those are being formulated into what we call an alternative chapter.
