Children's and Adult's Watercolor Show and Open House Events

Children’s Watercolor Show and Open House

The public is invited to an open house at the Bemidji Public Library for “Horses, Crosses, and Butterflies” on the first Friday in April (April 1), from 3-5 pm. This children’s watercolor art show is the collaborative work of Judith Selby, lead artist, Hope House teaching assistants, and children from the City of Bemidji Parks and Recreation, Headwaters Science Center, the Little Flowers’ Group at St. Philip’s Church, and Girl Scouts. Artists will be available at the open house to discuss their work. Refreshments will be served. The show will be available for viewing through the month of April. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota, through a grant from the Region 2 Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Adults’ Watercolor Show and Open House

The public is invited to an open house at the Bemidji Public Library for “Landscapes, Horses, and Butterflies” on the first Friday in May (May 6th), from 3-5 pm. Hope House members are celebrating a year-long project of teaching kids in the community how to paint with watercolor. The children displayed their watercolor art in April; now, as part of Mental Health Month, the Hope House teaching assistants and other Hope House members will display their own finished watercolor pieces. Artists will be available at the open house to discuss their work. Refreshments will be served. The show will be available for viewing through the month of May. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota, through a grant from the Region 2 Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
