A federal judge has thrown out a lawsuit filed by a group of Pojoaque Valley residents in a decades-old dispute over who owns roads crossing tribal lands used to access private property adjacent to San Ildefonso Pueblo.
In a 55-page memorandum filed on Saturday, U.S. District Judge James O. Browning ruled that the court lacked jurisdiction to hear the complaint filed by the group — called Northern New Mexicans Protecting Land, Water and Rights — because it had not satisfied the requirements to sue under the federal Quiet Title Act.
