Man, woman enter not guilty pleas in reservation killing

RAPID CITY, S.D. — A man and a woman have pleaded not guilty to federal charges in the death of a woman on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.

Elizabeth LeBeau is charged with first-degree murder in the killing of Emily Blue Bird, whose body was found Jan. 21 in a creek near Pine Ridge. Fred Quiver, who also goes by the name Fred Brings Plenty, is charged with being an accessory.

The two entered their pleas in U.S. District Court before U.S. Magistrate Judge Daneta Wollmann on Friday. They were indicted by a federal grand jury.
