MONTVILLE — The Town Council declined to put more than $200,000 of surplus money from the education budget into a special account for capital expenses, citing the cloudy future of state and tribal funding to the town as the main reason.
All but one member of the council, Joseph Rogulski, voted against committing $236,956 to the Education Reserve Fund.
Superintendent of Schools Brian Levesque said the surplus came from a significant number of teacher retirements.
