Two teens killed in a head-on collision in Hubbard County: Victims from Bemidji and Laporte


HUBBARD COUNTY— Two 16-year-olds, a Bemidji girl and a Laporte boy, were killed in a head-on collision Wednesday night in Hubbard County.

At about 6:30 p.m., the teenagers were headed south on Hwy. 71. The driver lost control of the 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt he was driving and veered into the northbound lane, where it was struck by an oncoming truck.

Both teenagers were killed in the crash, according to the State Patrol. Their names have not yet been released.

The driver of the truck, a 53-year-old Park Rapids man, was seriously injured and taken to Sanford Health in Bemidji.

Bemidji police and the Hubbard County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
