R.I.'s first Smashburger coming to Warwick

WARWICK, R.I. -- Rhode Island's first Smashburger will open in Warwick on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the plaza at 1000 Bald Hill Rd., with dining room seating for 65 guests in 2,020 square-foot space.

Smashburger has over 340 locations across the U.S. The Warwick restaurant is franchised by Mohegan Holding, LLC, a company owned and operated by the Mohegan Tribe that operates Mohegan Sun, the Connecticut casino.

Smashburger uses local flavors for burgers at each restaurant. Here it has partnered with Backyard Food Company to create the Rhode Island Burger, with Rhode Island Red Relish and provolone cheese, mayonnaise, Gulden’s Spicy Mustard, leaf lettuce and red onion on an egg bun.
