BELTRAMI COUNTY: Still working for veterans home. Transportation, early childhood education funding also top the list

BEMIDJI -- Beltrami County Commissioners continue to push for a future veterans home to be located in Bemidji.

At its work session Tuesday, commissioners and staff discussed what they'd like to see in the upcoming Minnesota legislative session with three local legislators. Rep. John Persell, DFL-Bemidji, was joined by Sens. Rod Skoe, DFL-Clearbrook, and Tom Saxhaug, DFL-Grand Rapids to outline what they saw as priorities for this year's session, which starts March 8 (shortened because of construction at the Capitol). Rep. Dave Hancock, R-Bemidji, was unable to attend.
