Traffic stop yields highway chase, drug bust for Bemidji man, Crookston woman


MOTLEY, Minn. -- After fleeing a traffic stop, a Crookston woman and Bemidji man face felony drug charges after officers found heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana in their car.

Both Ashley Ann Thomas, 24, and Billy Dale Vincent, 38, face drug and sale possession charges after being pulled over Thursday afternoon near Motley. After a Minnesota State Patrol trooper made initial contact with with the two on State Highway 64, Thomas drove away and led authorities on a roughly 3-mile chase.

Along with paraphernalia, Thomas and Vincent tossed a backpack out of the car with 10.8 grams of methamphetamine, 0.4 grams of heroin and 14 grams of marijuana, according to a criminal complaint.
