Pumps are paying off: Low prices expected to stay until summer grade changeover


BEMIDJI -- The average price of gas has been falling locally and nationally and experts say the trend is likely to continue -- at least for a couple more months.

In Bemidji, the average price per gallon comes to $1.77, similar to other Minnesota cities. In Duluth, the cost is $1.79, Rochester is at $1.76, St. Cloud is at $1.78 and the Twin Cities comes in the lowest at $1.72.

According to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report, the average price statewide is $1.74, a drop from this time last year, when the price was $1.96. The AAA Report also shows that Minnesota has the lowest average in the region, with North Dakota at $1.83, South Dakota at $1.86, Iowa at $1.84 and Wisconsin at $1.79.
