Warriors upset by Pine River 69-60

Lil Warriors finish 2nd in the Blackduck Nothwoods Tournament on Saturday

On Friday, January 15, 2016 the Red Lake Warriors traveled to Pine River. Although leading 33-26 at the half, Pine River came back and handed Red Lake their third loss of the season, 69-60.

Red Lake was ranked 9th in Class 1A according to Minnesota Basketball News through Jan. 12, but will more than likely drop out of the top ten with the loss.

The Junior Varsity won their game in overtime, while the 8th grade team came up short 39-36, and the 7th grade team won 50-23.

Red Lake moves to 12-3 now on the season and will travel to Nevis on the 19th and Blackduck on the 22nd before playing at home again on Tuesday, January 26 against Walker-Hackensack-Akley.

In basketball action on Saturday, the Lil Warriors played in the Blackduck Northwoods Tournament and finished a strong 2nd.
