Rose Marie Brown, age 84, of St. Paul, Minnesota went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, January 13, 2016 from the Golden Living Center in Walker, MN. Rose was born in Buck Lake, Minnesota on February 2, 1931, the daughter of John and Margaret (Martin) Brown.

Rose attended the Buck Lake School through the 8th grade. She moved to Minneapolis in the late 60's and lived there until moving to the Golden Living Center in October of 2015. She always lived her life for others, raised her grandchildren and later raised a great granddaughter. Rose found the love of Jesus during her life and was very devoted to her Christianity. She often prayed for all of her family, friends and her people of the Leech Lake Reservation. In her youth, Rose loved to play the guitar and cooking alongside her father which lent itself to her cooking big meals for family who would visit, she especially liked making sure their bellies were full as they headed home. Rose worked all of her life as a house keeper, both in the hotels around the metro area and in the private sector. In her free time, she loved to read her bible which she kept by her side at all times. She loved walking, often walking everywhere she needed to go. Rose read many Christian based books. She had a passion for rummaging and thrifting and taking rides. Rose treasured being with her family, especially the little ones.

Rose has been reunited with her son; Richard "Oly" Brown Sr., daughter; Barbara J. LittleEagle (Jeanie Brown), parents; John and Margaret Brown, brothers; Dan, Mike, Frank and Lyman Brown, sisters; Julia "Molly" Gilbert, Nancy Martin, Delia Wilson, Vivian Smith and Veronica Cummings, a very special cousin; Sherman Brown Sr., grandsons; Richie and an infant grandson.

She leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, one of whom she raised and was named after her 'Lil Rosie', one great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews, all who loved her dearly and will greatly miss her.

A service for Rose began at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 15th at the Victory Celebration Church in Roseville, MN. Visitation began one hour prior to services.
