Meet The Thunderbirds: Group Brings Back Native American Dancing

The Thunderbird American Indian Dancers are coming to Flushing Town Hall on Saturday with a family-friendly dance workshop and performance.

They will do social dances form the Iroquois, Northeast Woodlands and Southwest tribes and the Great Plains people.

“We explain each of the dances, where it comes from, it’s origin. The reason why it’s done,” said Louise Mofsie, who was one of the founders of the group 52 years ago and will be part of the performance in Flushing.
