CASS LAKE -- Homeless Native American veterans in Cass Lake and White Earth will be receiving help this winter to find housing.
The Native American communities have been awarded $302,000 for permanent housing and support services for Native American veterans who are or are at risk of becoming homeless, according to a joint release Friday by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
The Leech Lake Housing Authority in Cass Lake has been given $159,022 and White Earth Reservation Housing Authority received $142,980.
