2016 Annual Toy Drive Challenge

A Memorandum directed to Tribal Programs, Tribal Enterprises, Red Lake Indian Health Service, Private Businesses and all interested parties from Red Lake Tribal Chairman, Darrell Seki, Sr. issued on January 8, 2016, he invited those mentioned to participate in the 2016 Annual Toy Drive Challenge.

The memo stated that fundraising activities could start early and continue throughout the year to maximize their changes on winning the annual Toy Drive Traveling Trophy.

This year's deadline for submitting Program/Business fundraising money is December 14, 2016, and that funds can be turned into Evelyn McKenzie at the Tribal Accounting Office.

Chairman Seki also congratulated the Red Lake Hospital Staff for winning the 2015 Toy Drive Challenge by raising $5,340 last year. He also added that the Red Lake Hospital has won the Traveling Trophy two years in a row.

There were only two participants in the 2015 Toy Drive Challenge, the Red Lake Hospital Staff the the Tribal Headquarters Staff who raised a total of $7,365,00.

This year the Toy Drive Committee hopes more programs will participate and get involved so they can exceed that amount. It is a huge part of the fundraising efforts for the Red Lake Nation Toy Drive.
