Tribal Council hears second election appeal

PABLO — The CSKT tribal council held a hearing last week at the Confederated Salish and Kootenai tribal headquarters on an appeal by CSKT tribal member Lois Friedlander on the recent general election results.

Friedlander’s appeal claimed the tribal electoral process included an ineligible candidate; ineligible voters; bribery including personal gain of the election results; and a flawed vote count.

An appeal process is first the heard by the election board then heard before a full council hearing, said CSKT Chairman Vernon Finley at the Wednesday, December 30, 2015 meeting.
