September 30, 1992 - January 2, 2016

Dimitri Galdino Angel Cantũ 23, of Montgomery, MN passed away unexpectedly at home Thursday, December 31, 2015. He lived in Montgomery, but also spent time in St. Paul, MN.

Dimitri was born to Evelyn Marie Jones and Leonardo Cantũ, Jr. on September 30, 1992 in Toppenish, Washington. He attended school in Minnesota at Leech Lake Head Start, Bug-O-Nay-Ge-Shig, Onamia, and Burnsville. He enjoyed cooking, listening to music, making memories with family and friends as well as always making new friends, and giving his son all the love he had. Dimitri was known as being kind, caring, generous, loving, and loyal. He was very easy going and had a gift of leaving a lasting impression on all who met him.

He is survived by his son, Angelo Cantũ; his one and only love and his son's mom, Meagan Kearny; stepfather, Frank Hall; siblings, Larissa Larose (Kris Roybal Sr.), Gordon (Shannan) Jones, Raymond Sayers, Allend (Nikki) Jones, Rick Cantũ, Chelsea (Jade) Cantũ, Otillia Cantũ, Frankie Joes, Vincent Hall, Cody Hall, and Anara Hall; many cousins and friends.

Dimitri was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Marie Joes; his father, Leonardo Cantũ; a baby brother; maternal grandparents, Linda Mitchell and Tom Jones; paternal grandmother, Marta Cantũ; a nephew, baby Nathaniel; numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.

A wake will begin at the Leech Lake Veterans Memorial Building in Cass Lake, MN 5:00 pm Wednesday, January 6, 2016 and continue until time of service. The funeral service will be at the same location at 11:00 AM Friday, January 8, 2016 with Steve Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Boy Lake Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Gordon Jones, Raymond Sayers, Allend Jones, Frankie Jones, Vincent Hall, Cody Hall, Kristopher Roybal, Sr., Kristopher Roybal, Jr. and Leonardo Cantu. Honorary pallbearers are Cory Jones, Martrez Burrell, Lucas Nickaboine, and too many to be named. Arrangements are being handled by Dennis Funeral Home of Walker (www.dennisfuneralhome.com).
