New Lumbee tribal chairman promises transparency, a better community

Harvey Godwin Jr., new chairman of the Lumbee Tribal Council, ushered in his term with promises of a more transparent government and better sense of community while encouraging the tribe to unify.

Godwin, owner and CEO of Two Hawk Employment Services and Two Hawk Workforce Services, was sworn in Thursday during a ceremony at the Givens Performing Arts Center on the University of North Carolina at Pembroke's campus.
