Car hits child waiting for bus in Moorhead

MOORHEAD — Moorhead police are investigating whether criminal charges are appropriate after a driver of a car hit a child waiting to get on a school bus Wednesday morning.

The child was approaching the bus in the area of the 1100 block of 19th Street North at about 7:34 a.m. Wednesday when the driver of a slow-moving car failed to spot the child and struck the 8-year-old, Sgt. Toby Krone said.
