The Environmental Protection Agency declared a ban on most outdoor open burning on some Western Washington tribal reservations, including the Upper Skagit Indian Tribe.
The ban, which was announced Thursday and went into effect Friday, will remain in place until further notice.
The EPA enacted the ban due to stagnant air conditions and elevated air pollution, according to a news release.
