Hill to resign from council
PENDLETON, Ore. – Councilwoman Jane Hill says she will be resigning from the Pendleton City Council. Her resignation has not yet been formalized. Hill says she wants to avoid any possible conflict of interest as she is in has been offered a position with the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation. She tells KUMA News that a formal announcement of that position is expected after the required background checks have been done.
CTUIR will make a formal announcement regarding Hill’s new position next week.
Hill would have been up for re-election in May. She is an at-large member of the council which means anyone from the city can fill her seat.
